Summer has hit Scotland hard for the first time in, well… forever!
Skin is on show everywhere.
Summer clothes (that never normally get an airing) are being dusted down and we’re soaking up the heat as often as possible.
I’ve been blogging for 3 years and this is the first year I’ve been able to sit outside and work.
It feels great.
My legs are even off-white!
Can you OD on Vitamin D? đ
When I first started blogging (back in June 2015) I had no idea what was ahead of me.
I remember being thrilled to bits with my first collaborative offer… which just so happened to come from a hosiery company that I used anyway.
So this first offer was a definite (excited) YES!
However, I quickly came to realise that NOT every opportunity to collaborate was worth taking.
Yes of course “free” stuff is nice.
{Although, anything that involves your time and effort is not free… think of your hourly rate and multiply that by the hours you put into preparing and writing a blog post… suddenly that pair of tights is VERY expensive!}
BUT at the end of the day, your integrity is what really matters.
If a collaboration feels wrong in any way I just say “No thank you”… even if it looks like a great deal.
I only ever say “Yes!” to items I would happily buy anyway.
{See more on why I’ll never “Make it Big” HERE}
Take these shoes from Calla.
When they got in touch with me to ask if I would be interested in their summer collection I said “Yes” straight away!
I knew the quality would be spot on (I have been caught out by other brands in the past and had to send things back) and as soon as I saw this style I knew it would be perfect for my summer wardrobe.
Practical and not too ‘pretty’ looking… if that makes any sense at all!
They do have a great selection of more classic styles as well as beautiful event shoes if that’s more your thing.
(See the last pair of shoes they sent me HERE… it was bitterly old that day.)
Calla shoes are aimed at women with bunions, and they’re amazing at disguising them.
However, they are not just for bunion sufferers.
They’re perfect for anyone with wide feet, or anyone who needs more space for their toes.
I have a small bunionette on my right pinkie toe and there is no squeezing at all from these shoes.
Toe heaven!
With these sandals at my starting point, this outfit was easy to throw together.
I often start from the feet and work my way up.
Outfits make more sense to me that way.
Sandals.
Denim dress.
Done.
Comfortable and casual.
BUT just pretty enough to wear for summer-evening drinks!
Do you have bunions, wide feet or a bunionette like me?
Are you always on the hunt for comfortable shoes?
